Stepping in made easy

The correct way to get into a ski touring boot is slightly different depending on the model.

In general: The liner should already be in the shell and the hiking mechanism should be open. All lacing systems and buckles are open to the maximum. It is recommended to wear ski socks with reinforcements at the heel and shin to protect the critical friction points. Make sure that the socks fit without creases. After entry, close the inner boot with Velcro or a lacing system. Then the boot shell must be closed. To avoid slipping and thus blisters, close the forefoot area with moderate tension. In the upper part of the shaft, leave as much “air” and freedom of movement as possible during the ascent. Therefore, only hook the buckles in, but do not tighten them. If available, close the upper Velcro strap at maximum width. Finally, pull the gaiter of the pants over the shaft and the tour can begin.
