The 2024/25 FIS Freeski World Cup season concluded in thrilling fashion in Tignes, where Great Britain’s Kirsty Muir secured her first-ever World Cup victory in slopestyle. The Scottish skier delivered a standout performance, topping the 10-woman final with a 77.98 in her first run.
Kirsty Muir showcased her technical prowess on the Tignes course, throwing down a flawless sequence of tricks.
“It’s crazy, this is my first World Cup win and just coming back from my knee and everything – honestly, the best feeling ever,” said Muir.
Joining Muir on the podium was Abi Harrigan (AUS), who secured second place with 75.41, marking her first World Cup top-three finish.
“I’m just so hyped and so stoked for the other girls” Muir added, highlighting the camaraderie among competitors.
Kirsty Muir’s victory is all the more impressive given her return from a knee injury. After more than a year away from competition, she only resumed World Cup action in February. Her road to recovery and triumphant return underscore her resilience and determination.
With the final event done, Italian teenager Flora Tabanelli capped off a dominant season by claiming the overall women’s Park & Pipe Crystal Globe, tallying 540 points across big air and slopestyle.
The men’s Slopestyle final competition in Tignes was just as intense, with challenging conditions leading to mistakes and crashes early on. Sebastian Schjerve (NOR) took risks on the rails, executing a daring front swap to front swap gap pretzel 270, which helped him lead initially. However, Andri Ragettli (SUI) stormed to second place with a switch dub misty 16 and a consistently strong run, finishing with 84.43 points behind Alex Hall. Schjerve rounded out the podium in third place with 83.48.

With the 2024/25 FIS Freeski World Cup season now wrapped, all eyes turn to the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships in Engadin (SUI), taking place from March 17-30.
Stay tuned as the world’s best continue to push the limits of freeskiing!
