The FIS World Championships in Corvatsch brought one of the most thrilling slopestyle events of the season. With a surprise one-day shift due to upcoming snow, the event went down on Friday, with perfect conditions that defied the forecast. The athletes were ready to lay it all down on one of the most exciting setups of the year.
Birk Ruud was the standout, once again proving why he's at the top of the game, taking gold after an absolutely flawless run. His dub bio 18, following a switch 18 tail and switch 16, was a perfect way to close out his run and secure the top spot.
Lara Wolf’s return to the sport this season has been nothing short of amazing. After stepping away for a while, Lara made a stunning comeback, earning silver with an impressive performance. She was so close to gold, and with a couple of cleaner grabs, she could have been right there. Regardless, her return to top form was a standout moment.
Luca Harrington also threw down an insane run with a switch dub 18 into a switch triple 16, but a slight slip on the first rail kept him in 5th place. Andri Ragettli, who dropped last, needed a perfect run to take the top spot, but it wasn’t quite enough to bump him up the rankings placing him in 4th.
It was a day of incredible performances. Birk Ruud delivered under pressure to take the GOLD and Lara Wolf’s epic return to the sport this season just hit another level making it an incredible comeback story.
